The biggest detriment for me has been the elimination of TweetDeck. That made using Twitter a flawless exercise where I could easily filter out the nonsense that I don't need to see. When TweetDeck went away, it became a far less effective tool.

BTW, Paul is now also on BlueSky.social. His game commentary is now there, not on X.  I think he is transitioning off X. The link is on his X site.

Sorry to see this. I am not "transitioning" to BlueSky. I am not woke enough.

Bluesky is fine, one doesn't have to be "woke" to go there. It is run as a public benefit corporation, which gives it a different mission. Sports stuff is gradually starting to appear and get followers, including Paul's account. It feels kinda cozy there right now compared to X and FB.

I used Tweetdeck for efficiency when it was available, but as a writer, editor, teacher, and free speech advocate, I prefer a messy platform to one that uses censorship and content labeling of free speech, such as Blue Sky currently does profusely, even with the Babylon Bee satire site. Check the Blue Sky Babylon Bee account. This is a step backward to pre-free speech X.

Im gonna say we all stop right now before this becomes a political discussion. Whether you are red or blue this site is designed to be purple and stay purple. We can have our opinions on social networks all we want, but the fact of the matter is Paul has made a decision, and that decision is his to make.

For the record, I'm still deciding if I'm leaving Twitter. Substack also has a chat function, which might be more useful during games than livetweeting or liveskying. It's more of a mental health thing for me. I find myself constantly checking Twitter, and for what? The same Temu ads over and over. The same fake Adam Schefter accounts.
