Thoughts on the recent MVC coaching carousel?
Currently UIC, MoSt., and SIU looking for HCs.
How does this impact VU and our rebuild? Any thoughts on HC candidates?
Not an MVC job, but related, and this would be interesting if it develops.

I'd expect a few upper-classmen to jump ship. Usually happens when a coach leaves.
Moser apparently went on social media to shoot down the DePaul rumor which is a potential move making zero sense to me.
Not sure why anyone would go from OU to Depaul, unless they felt under the gun at OU. Depaul is where HC careers go to die.
I would be surprised if Ben McCollum isn't at the top of the list for Missouri State.
The MVC coaching carousel could be a blessing in disguise. While these schools are scrambling to get a HC and retain star athletes, we can attempt to keep our stars and recruit new talent!
Looks like Jake Diebler's old boss and former Butler coach is the prime candidate at DePaul who will become a rival of Coach Powell for recruiting local Chicago and Indiana talent. Interesting selection that likely will be questioned by some so soon after his lack of success at Ohio State, especially if he maintains his $3 million salary. Wikipedia already lists him as hired: "Christopher Adam Holtmann (born November 11, 1971) is an American college basketball coach who is the current head coach at DePaul University."
@valpopal Powell potentially has a window to recruit talent before DePaul gets their situation sorted. Huge opportunity.
@valpopal Not sure McCollum would take the job, he is looking for something better.
@valpopal once again another loses retread coaching at DePaul. What a mess, but I give DePaul credit for being proactive in making a decision and moving forward. Given their past and their situation, I guess DePaul won’t do much better, but at least they are making a change expeditiously.
It will be interesting to see if Schertz or the DeVries father/son combo receives an offer that can't be refused.
Looks like congratulations are in order for Jake Diebler! Various Ohio media and sports commentators are reporting that Jake's success at the end of the season has earned him the right to be elevated from the interim position to head coach and contract negotiations are underway. I look forward to a formal announcement.
@valpopal going 5-1 after the head coach was fired boosts his resume. He deserves all the money he can get.
It's official! Also, Jake has a very good core of underclassmen to work with in the new season, so he should have that advantage over the circumstances most new coaches face. Having said that, now let's schedule a game between OSU and VU!
