Means that it will not be long until Valpo sees Fox again, with VU scheduled to travel to Western Illinois for a nonconference buy game on September 13.
As predicted, Landon gets a a bump up to scholly FCS. So glad for him. Well deserved.
As totally unanticipated, this fall he faces personnel at Valpo who he knows intimately. Ouch. That’ll weigh heavily in their defensive game plan regardless of what Waddle’s new regime brings in as a system.
This will be a positive change in Fox’s career.

Fox is a good DC who should be able to coach a scholarship defense to stop a non scholarship offense under any circumstances. If the offense for Valpo remains all that identifiable to Fox, it does not bode well for Valpo next season. There will be enough personnel change for familiarity to not be a great factor.
With what Fox did at Valpo and the personnel he made effective in the PFL. I don’t expect Valpo to crack 100 yards in the game next year.
For him to lose a job here and make an upward mobility career move screams how dysfunctional this whole process was.
disheartening as an alum

Our previous two coaches have made the leap to scholarship level programs. The word is out what kind of dumpster fire the football program is at the admin level. .500 is like winning the Super Bowl
