No, I haven't seen anybody leaving as of yet but am wondering how long before decisions are made. Just checked Verbal Commits and the Valley already has four transfers listed, 2 from UIC and one each from Murray and SIU. They also list one recent (February) offer from Valpo to Cedric Horton, 6'5" guard from Richmond Indiana. He also holds offers from Indiana State, Miami (OH) Omaha, Eastern Illinois and Kent State.
As a current, well, former IUPUI student now IUI student whom is a Valpo fan, I did see that star guard Jylnn Counter is entering the portal. He averaged just under 15pts per game. Could be a potential sleeper portal get
Looks like he can help somebody but it will probably not be Roger Powell and Valpo. It doesn't appear that we have another opening for a 6'3" guard. Our needs remain for an experienced center and a 6' 5" or taller 3 point deadeye shooting guard or forward. Not too surprising given that Dana Ford has been fired.
I am surprised we haven't heard much news yet. I am sure the season-end meetings are still going on, but doesn't sound like anyone on the roster was in a rush to get into the transfer portal. Once meetings conclude, there will surely be a few that Powell told won't be seeing much time if they stick around. I'd have to think this starts next week.
I'm not sure the schedule for post-season meetings. I know that some of the players left directly from the tournament to go on spring break.
I would not expect anything to happen until after selection sunday as the portal does not formally open until March 18th. As of right now things will continue to be in the discussion phase
Mercer Bears guard David Thomas is reportedly on our list. 6'2" and averaging 11 pts per game. I'm not sure about this one...\

A lot of guard turnover, but nothing major on the big man front. Freshman with a lot of room to improve

With Guards, Powell could be looking more at defensive prowess than offense. Darius improved a lot last year but his size limits him against bigger guards defensively.
D2 players are also now on the table. Powell is now looking at Senior Amari Stewart out of Wilmington University.

those are his junior year stats, his most recent year he averaged 17.5 ppg on 54% from the field and 43% from 3. Through 3 years combined he’s shooting 38% from three for his career.
the Pepperdine guy only averaged 4ppg but shot 37% from deep. Good to see Powell targeting guards that can shoot.
