Despite some pretty heavy criticism of their coach on MVCFans by Racer fans, Murray sits at 9-6 and shares a 3-2 MVC record with Valpo going into this game. More recently, they went into Des Moines and Cedar Falls and knocked off two of the early front runners, Drake and UNI leading up to this game. They are scary cuz no one knows exactly how they will perform — not even them.
🧐 I will put my optimist hat on and say we squeak past them by under 3.5 points.

I expect Valpo to compete and the game should be close, but this is not one of the away games that I expect Valpo to win. Murray State is favored by 8.5. We will cover with another 6 point lose.

This is gonna be a tough game in Murray, Ky. Tempted to make the 3 hour drive , but I’ll for sure be at Belmont on Tuesday. I don’t think we win this on the road, but we keep it competitive! A win is programming defining in my eyes.

I have watched portions of 4 Murray games and have always felt that we could beat them. Then they went on the Iowa tour without my watching and now I don't know what to think.
Murray is a pretty athletic team and think we will struggle with their quickness with rebounding and penetration/foul trouble. We have played well there the last two years, so I don't think we will be intimidated. Last year faded in the last 7 minutes. No depth.

Racers super athletic I think Valpo depth will come in handy. Im feeling some Justus and Ellis contributions today. Keep turnovers low get to the bonus and we can be right there late game! Lets go. Agree this is a big one- feels like they have all been big but this is one more level up on the road.
Well not our best start
Past teams would have folded after a slow start. This team responds and is back in it. So fun to watch.
We need to clean up the turnovers and we can give ourselves a chance. Playing a bit sloppy on the offense but our defense is holding.

Sloppy but survivable. All Wright needs to take over on offense and defense needs to continue its performance.
As we speak! Team is a little sloppy on offense. Shooting pretty poorly, both teams playing good D. Physical game, but we need to figure out how draw fouls and score inside. We are getting caught on the switches in the paint, sending Racers to the line. We don’t have the shooting today. This game is for the taking!
