Tale of the Tape: Murray had 24 FT attempts; Valpo 3 in the ENTIRE game (ZERO in the second half). FGs about the same %age. The difference: We never got to the line. Can you say “home court advantage” boys and girls?
No but I can say "jump shots"
Sepp was open on top just about every time he touched the ball and DeAveiro also was given room to put up 3 pointers. Rarely did anyone else get wide open from 3. Meanwhile their inside defense slowed all our penetration and created a number of turn overs from our faulty interior passing. I suspect Roger, the team and Sepp have some adjustments to make to free things up for a better selection of shots.
All Wright looked great against ISUb and totally ineffective vs Murray. He was well defended and may have tried to force into some openings that really weren't that open. Most didn't result in TOs but some bad shots and sloppy passes didn't help. Unrelated to how Wright played but I was really glad that McNair was subbed in and tested under the same difficult circumstances. He must get minutes to speed his development.
