I am begging Valparaiso to use some of this capital to improve its football experience for student athletes. It is proven that football provides the largest donor base of former student athletes
Video scoreboard and a practice bubble would cover multiple sports and can even have a whole Uchicago training sector for sports medicine
I could not find any information regarding a capital investment related to this partnership, but if there was money involved, I would think it would likely go towards basketball unfortunately. Seeing as this partnership includes the creation of a new initiative regarding the enhancement of NWI basketball courts and all.
I am curious with this initiative. Are we talking pick up courts around local parks, or could VU an UChicago med be looking into revitalizing local school gymnasiums as well. If they were, it would be a great puff piece every time and give Valpo some leverage in local schools.
