5-12. Start the search, if they have not already.
Do AD's even do anything like this or do they just leave it to a search firm? Either way I expect a change. It is beyond time. Background check have you recruited size? If the answer is no, you need not apply. We know that won't work.
I am Evans' biggest critic but I have to give her credit she can beat Bradley. 7 wins in a row, 8 of 9.
Encouraging performance on the road as the women beat down on Indiana State, 73-54. Leah Earnest continues to move up the list of greatest players ever to play for Valpo, and tonight's absurd stat line shows why: 25 points on 10-12 shooting, 10 rebounds, 6 steals, 4 assists.
Leah Earnest has been a dedicated warrior at Valpo in her 5 years. Nice performance over an awful Indiana State team. Women’s basketball quality in the MVC has really tanked.
It isn't that the MVC is any different (10th in conference NET at the moment), it is that it has always been an extremely tough top 4-5 teams each season, and a really bad bottom 3-4. It is a tough conference, but Indiana State and Evansville are back to not being good again, and we should win against each.
Incredibly baffling performance from the women today. Amazing start, holding the #3 scoring offense in the country scoreless for 7 minutes, and found themselves up 17-3 late in the first quarter. Probably the best 8+ minute stretch I’ve ever seen from Valpo WBB, and yet they still lose 77-57. Turned it over 28 times - including 7 times in 5 minutes - and what was an impressive first half turned into a blowout loss. There is clearly talent on the team, but you need maturity…and a good coach.
28 turnovers, and after a 17-3 start they were out scored 74-40. Over HOF weekend, the men’s and women’s teams lost by an average of 21 points. Let’s see how Valpo athletics media puts lipstick on a pig this time.
Listen to Evans after the Belmont game bemoaning Belmont's size. Duh it was been an issue for years.
We have a 6-2 Freshman who seems to have potential who played 3 minutes or Friday 1 today. Both blow outs. We can't find her a little time.
Can someone who knows tell me if Swedlund is still hurt from last year while at Toledo? She is lucky to get 1 minute in complete blowouts.
@azvalpo Swedlund is healthy, or as healthy as you can be after tearing your ACL twice in two years, but she’s just not gonna play. Had a terrible debut against Trinity Christian (a 2 win NAIA team) where she went 0-7 (0-6 from 3), several of which were airballs. I am told that she was not recovered enough to go through a practice when she visited Valpo in April. Evans took a flyer of a risk on Swedlund and it looks like it’s not paying off.
Much better performance today, knocking off a UIC team with 11 (11!) seniors, although it was only a 9 point win after being up 22 in the first half. The last week has shown probably the best and worst basketball Valpo can play, but if they can find a way to put together a full 40 minutes of their top potential, they could have some life in them as we head into the end of the season.

And after losing to them by 15 in Chicago. Down a player for personal reasons and also down two starters. Potential is clearly there.
