Nice road win. If we could split the last 2 and then win a game or two at arch madness, the season would be in line with what I was hoping for going into the year, albeit maybe not the same path I foresaw

What a W, if McNair and Ellis play this strong we’ll make noise in Arch madness! We keep fighting when we’re down, I’ll rescind my comments from earlier lol.

Hell of a comeback, I'll be it against an average team, but a comeback none the less and on the road. Team was dead in the water at 20-6. We outscored them 79-59 in the final 30 minutes. All Wright had enough with 9 minutes left in the first half, willed his team back in it. Nice team win, with good contributions for Monegro, Schmidt, Darius, Schmidt, McNair. Ellis with extended minutes, as did somethings that didn't show up in the box score.

Negatives....The first ten minutes and allowing SIU (Davis to drive the ball at will to the basket)

Maybe Powell was right a few weeks ago....The team hit a wall.

Maybe our best half of basketball this year and most of the scoring in it was by our freshmen.

A second MVC road win! thumbsup   I love it!

We’ve doubled our conference wins this season from 3 to 6. That’s tangible progress.

We’ve stopped the bleeding and have stabilized the program. I think…

If there was any doubt (shouldn't have been), All Wright wrapped up the Freshman of the Year tonight. With Cooper Schwieger that will make a pair FOY players in Powell's first two years. If this were the old days of rebuilding, Valpo would be sitting pretty next year with Wright, Cooper Schwieger, Stafford, McNair, Pettigrew, Shaw, Carson Schwieger, Monegro, Scroggins, and maybe Coulibaly. All Powell would need to recruit is a starting big man and another player or two for some depth to complete the team. Unfortunately, the NIL and transfer portal rules have made that very unlikely, especially for a mid-major program..

Interesting combo of players tonight. Basicly went to all shooters plus Coop but then went to Ellis instead of Caspar. Who knew?

Now is as good a time as any to start pushing the NIL collective. Granted success is always the biggest factor in getting more money in that department

I purposely stayed off this forum during the first half, as I was guessing that the sky was falling.  On my side, I just can't with this team.  After an absolutely atrocious shooting demonstration for the first 12 minutes, All and Justus go off in the second half.  I was prepared to mention that Cooper needs more touch around the basket, missing 3-4 bunnies, and he still does need to work on it, but he had some key dunks and rebounds in traffic.  I was prepared to mention that All scares the crap out of me every time he touches the ball, as he can take a terrible shot and make it, and he can look out of control going to the basket, but he knows his game and is confident that he can make every shot he takes.  Ellis was very good on defense and on the boards over the last 8 minutes, and might have stole some minutes from Sepp in the next one.  Credit to the team in turning this around, getting the ball moving and downhill after the first 12 minutes, which is more of our team's talent/game versus jump shots.

Per pgmado's TVB write-up, I also noticed that the SIU broadcast was struggling with the score at times.  They missed Cooper's dunk in the first half, but corrected it in the next timeout.  They also missed another Valpo bucket at some point early in the second half, I believe, but corrected it in the next break.  I did notice that they gave us an extra point at some point in the last 8 minutes, but wasn't sure if I was correct, but it seems that the final score also made that correction.  I have to believe that the arena scoreboard was correct all along, and it was just the broadcast that had issues?
