Coach Powell will have to do better than most coaches in creating loyalty to his program to overcome the disadvantage Valpo appears to have in NIL, facilities, and the university's financial health overall, not only this year but in the future as well. Critical that Cooper, All, and Justice remain.

Still no bigs other than the two who never play and are taking scholarships.

Does anybody know about Watson and why he was redshirted?

I don't think Watson was expected to get playing time so the redshirt made sense.

Valpopal brought up Pettigrew who is listed as a 6' 7" or 6' 8" center. I couldn't find high school stats on him, so do any of you know if he is a reliable 3 point shooter and ball handler?

The kid is an enigma. Sometimes he is listed as a 4 star. Sometimes he is listed as a 5 star. Prep Hoops calls him a center. VU calls him a foreward. Heck. This kid didnt even have a 247 until recently and even then his 247 is barren of stats. Your best bet for his stats is twitter

Though I can't find it now, I did see a video of him working on the 3 point shooting and he is smooth and hit consistently.  He also of course is a terrific shot blocker.

Here's some game action where he shoots a couple of threes and does a little of everything.

Good win however All Wright shot Valpo out of the game in the first half. McNair, Monegro and Schmidt won the game in the second half.

Shooting 38% for the game isn't good and no one on the forum would be happy if Valpo as a team had shot that. In fact, had the team as a whole done so, they may have lost. The guy shooting 38% for the game shouldn't be taking 26 shots.

Wright is learning fast and he is a freshman, but he is currently emulating World B. Free. It will be interesting to see his improvement under Powell.

Concur, shooting to much, but someone had to get us back in the game. As the talent around him improves he will learn to trust more. Bryce had that confidence/take over in him as a Freshman. Peters to some degree but he still had Lavonte D. as wing man. Sheldon Edwards had way to much of a green light. It back fired on Lottich. I think Wright will develop and trust under Powell. Learn when to stop heat checking so much, get others involved. JFL could light it up, high volume shooter as well and didn't shoot a great percentage, but did a lot more on the defensive end
