Didn't it come down to something like Valpo wasn't Lutheran enough? IIRC it seemed like a non basketball issue as to why he moved on.

Paul wrote an article and, within it, referenced the 4 other players who came in with Darius. Two of them....Cam Palesse and Preston Ruedinger start for Canisius and Wisconsin-Green Bay. Team records 3-24 and 4-26 respectively.

Trey Woodward has played for New Hampshire...starting a good number of games but he's been out injured nearly the full season. Keyondre Young has moved around and is at Div II

Oklahoma Christian averaging 13.5. per game.

As I recall that was the spin. But at the time there also seemed to be more behind the scenes, and I think some of it was the interpersonal dynamics within the team/players that turned him off. It was on Matt’s watch and he would know, but that’s water over the dam.

He would have been a great fit at Grand Canyon.

Huh? Is there a reason this message is directed toward me?

Preston Reudinger - https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/stats/_/id/4897485/preston-ruedinger - starter at GB

He must have been hurt as he only played in 27 of their 32 games. He wasn't in the lineup last night when they got killed at Oakland in the first round of their tournament and finished at 4-28.

@vu72 To add more to the Preston story. When he transferred to GB, he lucked out to land in the lap of the new coach from Wyoming, Sundance Wilson, who turned their program around in his first (and only) year finishing near the top of the HL.  Then this season, GB returned to being a dumpster fire under Doug Gottlieb, their Head Podster/Coach (which started burning when they fired Linc Darner, who had built up a solid program, finishing third in the HL only to be canned).  Preston has been pretty much a mainstay at guard for both of his years here. But I think you’re right; he must have been injured. Feel sorry for him, cuz he had a great restart to his career only to end it in injury at the conclusion of a disastrous season.

In contrast, the Phoenix women also have a first-year coach, but they have gone polar opposite: 26-5 overall (they beat Drake, btw), 19-1 HL, HL regular season champs, currently have won 19 in a row.
