We had it 38-38, around 3 minutes into the 3rd quarter, and then went cold to lose by double digits
Good and expected win against Evansville by 20+. We should be able to do the same against ISUb. We are now 10-16 (6-9 in conference), so it will be interesting to see how this season turns out.
Be aware that Evansville and ISU are atrocious. Time for a change.
We almost coughed up a 21 point lead, but Earnest saves the day with a late 3. We are now 12-16 (8-9), with 3 games left
Stunning win for the women tonight, coming back from down 20 to beat then-league-leading Drake at home. Tangible momentum headed into the conference tournament, and with a win Saturday we could finish at .500 in conference play. The Mary Evans conversation just got a little more interesting.

darn, I switched over to MV tourney down like 12 in the 3rd. Great win indeed! And down two starters to boot!
Now at 13-17 (9-10), with a home game against UNI to close it out. Young team for Evans, so it will be very interesting to see what the AD does, as I think that we lose the twins, if our HC is exited.

Why does it get interesting? How long can you keep a coach that has consistently losing seasons? You can’t polish a turd, because it’s still shit. And Mary is good as a poopie flavored lollipop.
It won’t matter either way, the twins will do what’s in their best interest. Heck Shainya didn’t even play this season due to her knee injury
Seriously, if you look at the body of work over her tenure, she needs to get canned. 6 MVC wins were against absolutely pathetic teams. This should be a no brainer, but then again Valpo athletics provides a lot of generous amount of leeway.
@usc4valpo agreed about the overall body of work that Evans has put together, but you still have to give some merit to what she has done this year (with 1 regular season game plus the tournament to come):
T-most conference wins (9) since joining the Valley and also since the 2008-09 season
T-2nd most overall wins (13) since the 2008-09 season
Granted, much of this is a low bar that was partially set by her, but you can't take away from what she has done this year (and remember, she graduated four seniors last year, lost Ella Van Weelden to the portal, lost Olivia Sims to medical retirement, and of course lost two starters this year to injury). I also think that a lot of the coaching improvement this year has come from having Jon Hill on the staff, who I believe is a very good assistant.

Mary has to go, period! Laurel has to hit the reset button on this program. She can only rely on piggybacking off of Bob Bolden for so long. One winning season (w/ previous coach’s players) in her tenure is not worth holding on to. Time to cut the cord on Mary. It’s long overdue
Congrats to Future Hall of Famer Leah Earnest for breaking the all-time Rebounding Record set by Tamra Braun in 2007... well over 870 at this point. Broke the record early in the second quarter against UNI; and went on to score 30 in the loss. Noon Thursday awaits in Evansville.
