I believe we have our first recruit signed early for next year...does anyone have details on him?
Who? Where? Pettigrew, or someone else?
There are next to no real details if its Petigrew you are refferencing
If you missed them we posted a bit on him in the last Saluki game thread. Glad you opened a new thread so that we can better discuss all of our new and expected player changes and additions for 2025-26. As for Pettigrew he appears to be a high potential forward who would primarily compete for playing time with Ellis, Sepp, Shaw, Carson Schwieger and Jayden Watson who is redshirting. So---------We still desperately need a center and JT Pettigrew is listed as a high school center but I don't expect him to fill much or any of our need for one.
If anybody has any insights on Watson I would love to hear them. Just from watching his shoot around warmups I have no idea what he might add to the 25-26 Valpo team and if he is competing for playing time behind the VU player group I listed above then I'm inclined to believe that we see as much of him next season as we are seeing of Lucas Scroggins and Louth Coulibaly during this one.

I wrote about Pettigrew in September.

Reading the article again helped my memory. I don't want to tell everything to those who do not subscribe but now I am picturing (perhaps incorrectly) a slightly taller Kaspar Sepp who also rebounds, backs down defenders for points, blocks some shots and may be able to guard anybody he has to switch on to. Maybe he can handle the ball and shoot the 3 but you will have to subscribe to see if Paul covered it.I believe we have our first recruit signed early for next year...does anyone have details on him?

We will need a Victory Bell article with more details on Jayden Watson and some speculation on how Isaiah Stafford can best mesh with Wright, Monegro, and McNair during the 25-26 season. Even with Schmidt and DeAveiro gone I can still see a lot of 3 guard offense minutes but I'm not even sure we need a true point guard for next season.
Did a deep drive on Pettigrew via social media. Pretty dominant on a very good team. Much springier than Sepp and his jumper looks like a finished product. Tremendous timing-will definitely block shots. Mom 4 time all america volleyball penn state Dad Football penn state. little brother is a top 10 national prospect class of 28. Glad he committed early suspect his stock is rising. Looks like he has grown another inch since his junior year highlight reels. Im still curious about Carson- I think maybe a sleeper may be ready to really be in rotation next year. And was Scroggins a smoke screen or does he have something they saw or just a misfire?
Not sure if this has been shared elsewhere on the board, but Valpo has landed a new verbal commit!

Good size. Looked at his highlights which can always be spectacularly misleading but he looks like he can play. Has a natural stroke from the outside. Hard to tell about his inside play as the players he was going against seemed much smaller.
Calum McLeod, as well. We now have 3 Kiwis in our lineage, for at least one season, that is.
Valpo should go for YSU's Gabe Dynes. 7 ft 3 in center. Saw him play this year. Would be a good get.
Or Churchill Bounds. 6' 10" 260 lbs and only 1 year of eligibility. Could be a situation like Moussa to our developing big men.
Santiago Trouet (San Diego) 6 ft 10 power forward averaging 8 ppg. Would be a good support for Carson to work with.
So here we are postulating on possible xfer recruits. Don’t you wonder what’s happening in the BB office as we read this? They have so many more sources, scouting feeds, and personal networks. They have communications with agents and fellow coaches. What do you think is happening behind the scenes on Union Street? I’d love to be a fly on the wall there.
