NW Indiana has shown that if Valpo is a winner, that we can draw crowds. When we suck, we have a lot of fair weather fans that disappear.
When you lose, fans leave quickly. When you win, they return quickly.
great article on McCollum on Yahoo. I feel he may be going to Iowa or Indiana next season...
D-II Drake? After roster overhaul, Bulldogs are showing they're no joke
For the record, Valpo lost by fewer points to Drake than Missouri, Go Drake! Money in our pockets!
Good win for Drake. West Virginia is the latest rumor for McCollum.
Great to see Drake win. Stirtz is a great player, but their team effort won the game.
Silver lining, Valpo gets more conference sharing revenue, lets hope Drake keeps advancing! Drake played excellent. Is their a more high IQ player than Stirtz? McCollum was comfortable with his life in Kirksville MO for a long time before he jumped. Stranger things have happened, maybe he really likes Drake and stays. He did get a raise from DII, but not the kinda raise a power 5 could offer.
Can you say “contract extension” and “signing bonus” boys and girls?

Problem is a Power 5 conference team will be able to offer more, possibly much more, in salary plus the NIL money is going to be far better.
The cool thing for McCollum is that when he takes a P4 job after their run is finished, he can bring Stirtz with him. Stirtz will have gone from very little or no NIL, to Drake NIL, to P4 NIL in the span of 2 years.
@burnee77 - Northwest Missouri State is in Maryville (not Kirksville), a town of 11000 in a sparsely populated area. My daughter graduate from there last fall.
BTW, it was cool to see many Drake/NW Mo St fans wearing Bearcat wear.
Good win for Drake. West Virginia is the latest rumor for McCollum.
Iowa (likely the top) and Virginia are on the rumor mill. I wonder if Indiana has buyers remorse getting DeVries so early.

WVU is going after Calhoun at Utah State (former WVU top assistant under Huggins), while McCollum is either going to be Iowa or UVA bound.
It looks like each unit (game played) is worth about $2 million, paid to the conference, and paid out over the next six years.
good information - so for this year, I guess Valpo gets 2*$2M/12 teams/6 years which is about $56K annually for 6 years. Crumbs compared to the big picture.
