Couple of comments. Carson Schweiger red-shirted this year.  Also speaking about about religious kids coming to Valpo. A Farleigh Dickenson transfer is a Our Savior Lutheran HS in New York graduate  6'7 Power Forward who averaged 16.4 Pts. 5 rebounds per game shot 39% from 3 and a 80% FT. Ansley Almonor is his name

You would think that a Penn grad would care about the education he would receive in his last year of eligibility, so it automatically knocks out a few of those schools listed (in my view)

Including Valpo, but we'll see.

More Valpo "inferiority complex" on display.

To add onto this. Valpo is not a bad education. My mothers social work degree is still viewed in high status by her company and many others despite the program being cut.

The social work department wasn’t cut at Valpo. In fact, they just added a MSW program.

@mj08 I was thinking of secondary education. My mistake.

@valpopal I just saw that. I am not sure if Powell is going to try to pick him up, but it would be a good storyline

It would be a good storyline if any Valley team picked him up. Maybe they don't want to play together and Roger Powell didn't offer him a scholarship in the spring which must have had a reason? Thinking I honestly just threw his name out for the fun of it thinking he would stay at Wright St at least for one year under scholarship.

Hard for me to gauge Williams because his competition looks pretty weak. Listed at 6' 5" but looks smaller and has 3 years of eligibility remaining. I'll just trust the staff judgement on this one

Carson could be a worthwhile investment to keep Cooper around.  I say this knowing full well that Mike Oppland transferred after a few seasons, even though Dan stuck around

@justducky we need quality not quantity and I’m more than sure Powell is aware of this recruiting challenge.

I have seen Valpo as having reached out to three new names this morning: Madison Durr (Citadel), Alex Anderson (UIW), and Vincent Brady II (IUPUI). All three are guards, and all three have sub 30% three point percentages, so not entirely sure what the strategy is on that front.
