@rezynezy Rez, how did he do against us this fall?
All I could find was their regular season stats. No exhibitions. What I did see were a high of 26 rebounds, 18, 17 and multiple 15, 16 RB games. He could be our 5 if for no other reason than he wants to grab RBs. At 230# he has some bulk as well. Didn’t check blocks.
This mentions that he had 13 points in 14 minutes
He had 26 RBs in one game. 😱
In the 2025 NAIA playoffs his RB to Blocks were: 9-2 (W) 20-0(W), and 9-4 (L).
Rough gem?
BTW, I really like our new WBB coach’s philosophy. Not totally interchangeable, but a solid back-to-the-basket 5 and the 1-4 take on many different roles depending on the game situations.
Man, I hope we get Carrothers.
Tupuola was dominant in the 14 minutes he played against us. That was an early clue that we would have issues in Valley play. The final score was lopsided, but theyplayed mostly their second team in the second half. Is there anyone else from SMWC that would be a good add?
There really isnt much reported on NAIA portal ventures so I am unable to find any information on SMWC guys and if they are decent or in the portal
Looks like SMWC received the 35th most votes in the coaches poll out of the 270 NAIA schools. This website shows that he’s also one of the top 30 NAIA players available.

His FG%age was 71.3%. Took zero threes. Scoring = 14.5 per game. FT% = 69%. Started 30 of 34 games. 12.2 RB/g and #2 in minutes played (has some big man stamina?). He had 53 blocks in 30 games (1.76 pg). He was All- River States Conference as a soph
He has a minimum of 2 years eligibility (he’s NAIA, so…….. maybe more).
Hmmmm. This is looking better and better.

Interesting that the website does not list Etchison as a top 30 transfer.
Carson will do well at Queens. It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up being the Ognacevic for them, if he sticks around
Based on what exactly? Other than similar height he showed very little to project a similar career.
Based on what I saw from him in the games he played. Jacob was a similar player for Valpo to what we saw from Carson in his limited minutes. We'll see if I end up way off, but I saw a lot of potential that he would be able to transfer well to a school in a lower conference, such as a Queens (just like Jacob shined at Lipscomb, eventually)

Hmm, I didn't see enough of Carson this year, yet Jacob averaged 12.9 mpg and 6.3 ppg as a freshman which is way more than Carson (8.9 mpg and 2.6 ppg). Jacob could have been a star at Valpo - he ended up as ASUN player of the year this year and recently transferred to Washington. I could be wrong, yet I don't yet see that same upside for Carson.

What are we doing here?
