LET. ROGER. COOK.
Another good player. 1 year at Michigan and last 2 years at Tulsa. 9.6 ppg and 4.8 rpg. 6'7 swing guard.
An experienced point guard is going to be needed. We got a big and a couple of wings essentially.
Baylor has lost most of their team to the portal. Stating obvious, this is going on at all levels. The difference, Baylor can reload faster than Valpo.
Also Carson to Queens? Seriously, a big step down from Valpo and MVC, just because he prolly got paid. Charlotte is a 49'r town, then Duke/UNC/State/Wake fans and Davidson. Queens plays in a middle school gym and is like 7th in the pecking order. Carson would have been a very serviceable player for us, not sure as good as Jacob O, but who knows with some development and coaching. I guess he's an hour or so from his brother in Winston Salem, so their you go.

The bigger question is why?presumably they have as much NIL money as anyone so why is the entire team leaving? Is it Scott? Is it the desire to play? but obviously they have starters who’ve also left. It’s an imponderable
The big question IMOP is Why not? Test the waters and see if someone offers you more. Now more could be money, playtime, or both but I think most of us can agree that money is probably the dominant reasoning. What is interesting to me is that in the case of Rob Wright, he supposedly reaffirmed his commitment to Baylor after upping his NIL and was offered double by BYU to portal.
So as of right now, what might a way too early starting five look like?

would probably consist of the approximately 5 players on our roster.
@vu72 - players are leaving because of playing and more so, money. Thanks to ineptness of NCAA leadership not taking any control. College athletics are the wild west - look at the QB from Tennessee!
Interesting part of this article are the comments on coaches about how bad players are making too much money. I wonder if there's a sense, maybe encouraged by agents, that there are only going to be a couple years where this type of money is flying around for everyone and eventually it will clamp down so don't miss it.
This is still the early days of the nil movement. What I'm seeing is a lot of these schools are acting like lottery winners and blowing all their savings on things they don't really need or aren't worth it. I do think agents are being the ringleaders behind this and telling students that this money is not going to be around for much longer. All the more reason to enter the portal and test the waters. You're probably going to get a lot more than you're actually worth because these schools are still new to the game and will happily overpay

I understand. But in Baylor's case starters have also left and presumably Baylor can make other offers. It just is screwed. Although that guy Scott Drew must be some sort of a pain in the ass! (Just kidding!)
Barnes commits! Previous 4 star, started at Michigan then to Tulsa. Out of high school had offers from EVERYONE. 6’7” 200# Could be a tough guy to cover!!

Baylor? I'm sure they have a competitive NIL situation, but they're probably not top three in the state of Texas in NIL.
