@azvalpo agreed, for everyone's sake, the decision should be made immediately. I'm tired of Valpo being so reactive with their decision making and putting lipstick on a pig.

I am a bit worried about the twins leaving with a new coach, but we do need to make a change

The twins need to hit the weight room TBH, as well as most of the team.

Well the office of Dr. Small will be interesting tomorrow. Should be a no brainer decision.

Evans contract is up I believe. It pisses me off to no end how Valpo is so passive in their decision making. This is without any doubt a no brainer.

Losing out on valuable transfer portal outreach time for a new staff, as well.

@valpotx yep. I have been following this as an example  to understand who Valpo leadership is so lackadaisical in decision making. Other than selling art for necessary residential facilities, they always seem very reserved and reactive in making necessary changes. They are not doing anyone any favors and it makes us look inept.

@usc4valpo I believe she has one more year. I could see an unwillingness to buy out two coaches contracts in a row especially with the belt tightening happening in other areas and the money put into the ARC recently.

once again we observe Valpo's commitment to mediocrity over not eating $150K maximum salary. I guess Valpo should celecrate a 5-26 season. Sad.

The whole season was bizarre. There was no preseason show. They never updated the Valpo App's team picture. We signed 2 in the early period without a single mention that I saw.

And we played all but 2 pre conference games away from home.

Women’s basketball nationwide is escalating, certainly not based on Valpo’s performance. There is a problem requiring resolution and Valpo needs to step it up now. Valpo is in Division 1 basketball and they need to run the program in that manner. $150k is crumbs for a one year buyout. Fix the problem and move on, if not get out of Division 1.

Women's basketball is escalating nationally for high end programs but is still very likely a supportive program if not money losing proposition for most schools at this point. It is just not nearly as deep as men's programs and still has issues such as forfeits or potential forfeits because of a lack of players.

You tend to place major college expectancy on, what is generously referred to as, mid-major sports programs. It's not realistic.

@jd24 very good statement and your points valid. We are mid-major. At least now we know where this program stands, but not that they are making a commitment by providing huge scholarship money to these women.

Just read PO’s TVB article on yet another guard signed off the portal from Toledo. Evans still has three open schollies.  Seriously, are there any bigs in the portal? Or is Evans so committed to the 5-outside offense that she’s blind to how programs like South Carolina, UConn, Iowa win? Or…….. is it that she just doesn’t know how to coach anything else?

Women’s BB at the mid major level is so different from high mid-major MBB. There are so few opportunities beyond college for almost all players, so the four years they play in college is usually the end of the experience. Given that, Valpo should be kicking butt because of what it can offer:  the unique campus environment it offers to young women who seek a team/family concept within a campus that is academically challenging yet is also comfortable and personal. And it competes at the D-I level of competition in one of the best MM conferences in the country.

What am I missing?
