Can we assume the younger DeVries will go with him assuming he can be found after his disappearing act the other day.
Drake is about to come down to Earth, after enjoying the DeVries ride. It seems like a long time ago that they struggled to win, previous to hiring him
@valpotx not sure I agree, Drake is a decent job and has a good fan base.
Wow. The number of programs that will need to undergo a rebuild just keeps growing. ISUb also seriously rumored to be needing some new coaching soon.
This seems to place Valpo in a good spot if we can stabilize our recruiting and talent level. May mean a more rapid resurgence than originally projected?

That's what we used to think of Valpo, and it just took a few losing seasons. Drake was a mess for much of the prior 20 years, prior to DeVries. They had a few winning seasons, but were mainly around 33% win percentage or less.
@valpotx they had some really good season with Keno Davis and the guys with a sandwich named after him at Jethros.

Yes, but if we look at the history, prior to DeVries, Drake had a winning record in 4 seasons out of the 30 prior seasons: https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/drake/men/
C Martin is a safe hire at Mo State. Prolly a better evaluator of talent and recruiter of character than Ford. Martin had a really nice sweet 16 team at Tennessee ( an eye lash of making an elite 8) X's and O's he's just average, but much less school yard ball organization than Ford. Didn't Martin win a CBI title with the Bears?
Think about this from 2011 to 2016 Valpo was 10-1 against the MVC, if you count the three victories over Murray. We had the coach and system place then, we can do it again with Powell

Indiana State lives to fight another day, heading to the NIT Final Four! Hopefully they take the whole thing, as once their season is over, their HC is gone, as is likely most of their roster.
Think Coop’s brother might hit the transfer portal?
EDIT: Never mind. He has.
Question 1B: Ya think Carson might be a recruiting target? He was a PWO at Wright, I think. 1C: Is Cooper THAT much better than his bro? Just wondering.
Another reason that being in the MVC is better than the HL. We can poach their head coaches, but you won't see them poaching our HCs. Our HCs will traditionally only move to the P6, MWC or the A-10. For Nagy directly, he went from the Summit League to HL to MVC, so you can see how these jobs are viewed...
