While some thought the Pac 12 to be dead, including myself. It seems they have reached an agreement to absorb members of the Mountain West. MVFC members SDSU and NDSU are being talked about to move up to FBS to either recoup the losses from the MWC or to join the PAC 12. Where it stands right now, the Mountain West seems to be dying
It wouldn't surprise me if the MWC finally convinces Montana, Montana State, North Dakota State, and South Dakota State to move up to FBS. It will be tough to pry NDSU and SDSU from being tied to USD and UND, however.
From my understanding, The geographical island SDSU and NDSU are in makes it a difficult ask for a conference to make. NDSU and SDSU are out of the footprint for a lot of conferences and are in lower population areas. The MWC is getting a boatload of money from the PAC in poaching fees and severeces
