I’ll note that the plaintiff who brought forward the lawsuit is Diego Pavia, who probably holds the distinction of being the only quarterback in NCAA history to defeat both Valparaiso and Alabama.

As I understand it, this is only a preliminary injunction for Pavia but the pending trial enjoined with other cases will almost certainly make this law. Would assume a similar case would soon come forward from NAIA.

This also brings up the question, how many people will actually use every possible year of eligibility now? Will a lot of players go two years of JUCO and then four years of NCAA? That’s a lot of school (and degrees) they’ll be committing to, and not everyone is cut out for that. Will Stafford be here in 2025-26? Does this change his plans now and he suddenly comes back for this year knowing he’ll be back next year too? Significant ruling.

Guess that means Tyler Schmidt can play for 4 years at Valpo now 😆

This just keeps getting dumber and dumber, all in the "name of the student athlete."  We're going to have even more 24-26 year olds playing against 18-22 year olds.

This can all be blamed on the inept leadership of the NCAA who is pretty much powerless today. Listen to Charlie Baker the past couple of days says it all.

While the NCAA is certainly not blameless. What can they do? All these cases being filed are compounding on top of each other. Each judge ruling is quick to give injunctions and add the case to the Antitrust suit. The NCAA just has to sit there and take it and hope that congress gives then a antitrust exception (which congress will likely do)

Charlie Baker's patrician, upper crust worldview will, by its nature, favor the major D1 sports and schools. Everyone else is just there. And he doesn't get his hands too dirty with the actual gardening itself. He's a bird's eye type of manager.

Baker is looking like a schmuck, and going to Congress to solve this is a poor desperate strategy. However, the blame to the fall of the NCAA and the result of today’s Wild West goes to Emmert and the previous administration. Those guys were arrogant academic bureaucrats who ignored reality, thus the outcome of unlimited transfers and NIL payments.
