I know Jarnigan was mentioned as coming to Valpo but don't recall if it was mentioned that it is as TE Coach.
Michael Brewster in as OL Coach:
Two great hires! If this guy started at Ohio State and played professionally, he may be the most high level experienced coach in history! 👍
Hard to say, as Brewster had great college success and a few seasons in the NFL. I would contend that Will Johnson had more long-term playing success overall
New site wouldn’t let me use Valpofb16 boo. In terms of Brewster. It’s a great PR move.
looks like plan is to carry 23ish OL as opposed to the usual 15-16 guys. Think this is a smart move. Too many guys have came in and been in the 2 deep as freshman and have been out the door by their Junior year.
Agreed - good hires in Jarnigan and Brewster. Let's hope Valpo can keep them for more than 1 year. Anyone heard if there were any decommits due to the OL coaching change?
Sunday, April 21. 1pm. Spring Football game. Hope y'all can come out to Brown Field and see whassup
Great story about one of Valpo's most unusual incoming freshman:
Great to see, and I am assuming that his 'scholarship' is in other forms, unless he doesn't know what he signed up for. You can make it to the NFL from this level, or use it as a launchpad to FBS, but he will have to really stand out.
I had a chance to watch a bit of spring practice. Very impressed with new OL coach, Brewster. It's clear he knows the position and how to teach it. Love the fundamental drills and attention to detail during his OL individual periods. Tip of the cap to Fox for the hire.
I would hope so, given his playing pedigree. Hopefully the kids take full advantage!
Roosevelt University added to the home schedule. Formerly the "other" Robert Morris. I think this was mentioned on the old board as a possibility.
Roosevelt should be a win barring we survive the first two games.
with the amount of sacks and turnovers in the spring game and the inexperience we have on defense, Northern Iowa and Youngstown are expected to be very lopsided.
Need to go 2-0 against IWU and Roosevelt to try and start a fresh season in the PFL. I am optimistic
We hired a new DB coach. As far as I can tell me still coaches for RB, DL (2)
Staff to this point
HC/CBs- Landon Fox
DC/Safeties-Dave Marquis
Linebackers - RJ Ghilarducci
Nickels - Dayvonne Coleman
OC/QBs - Matthew Symmes
RB - Justin Bosch (Rochester University)
WR - Gibran Hamdan (Former NFL QB)
TE - Jack Jarnigan (Valpo Alum)
OL - Michael Brewster (Former NFL Player)
Specialists - Evan Matthes (Valpo Alum)
looks like pretty close to full DL is open. RJ has coached that unit very well before so I imagine he will go to the opposite of what the last hire will be.
