In the midst of changing AD, the transfer portal and no change in women's basketball I stumbled into an interesting fact. Ella VanWeedlin has entered the portal with 2 years remaining. As I checked her stats I discovered she played 299+ minutes this year and attempted 0 free throws. This may be some sort of record but I have no way to research it.

Wow. Hard to believe that's even statistically possible

@valpoburner That's what the stat sheet says!  She was also our tallest play at a listed 6'2". So incredibly, we just got even shorter!

She couldn't have been particularly active underneath if she was a forward, tallest player and isn't getting fouled.

Stood outside the 3 point line the entire time.

It is more sad that the women’s team will keep the coach.

@usc4valpo At least we don't have to go through another mass transfer-out this year. You never know if the Jacksons can put on some muscle and improve, and then stay when Evans' contract expires next year, which would help keep some talent and continuity. Plus three recruits coming in including a 6'2 forward, and another year of Leah Earnest. I just hope we don't suffer through another 5-25 season.

A big exodus of transfer out may not be a bad thing since the talent level is below par. Women’s basketball has escalated significantly and it’s pathetic a coaching change was not made, even with an interim AD. A lot of funding is spent on scholarships and a one year buyout is crumbs compared to the big picture. Valparaiso leadership once again is very reactive.
