Anne Marie Steinbrecher (Seibert), 63, of Rocky River, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, April 18, 2024. She was born November 16, 1960, in Parkersburg, WV to Wendell & Marie (Cole) Seibert, attended Forest Park High School in Beaumont, TX, and received a BSN from Baylor University in 1983. Anne made her career as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, passionately advocating for those in her care.  She was a compassionate caregiver and it showed not only in her nursing but in all facets of her life

Anne brought light and joy everywhere she went. She delighted in sharing the love of Jesus, serving as a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Westlake, Ohio. She actively looked for ways to serve others, always ready with a listening ear. She loved planning celebrations, hosting events, attending bible study (BSF), and spending time with her grandsons. Over a decade ago during College Football hall of fame festivities in December, she initiated an annual service project for the spouses of the commissioners who went and served a meal for the homeless at an area church.

Anne endured a six-plus-month battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. Throughout her diagnosis Anne kept her joy and smile.

On August 18, 1984, she married Jon Steinbrecher and served as his partner across his multiple positions in intercollegiate athletics.  She served as the first lady for three Division I conferences and enjoyed supporting the efforts of the memberships.  She was a passionate fan who enjoyed attending college athletic events.

She is survived by her husband, Jon, along with their children:  Grace (Taylor) Rhea, William & Matthew Steinbrecher, siblings, John (Kaye) Seibert, David (Melinda) Seibert & Jimmy (Laura) Seibert, grandchildren, Cole & Leo Rhea, and father-in-law, William Steinbrecher. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law Helen Steinbrecher, and sisters-in-law Rin Seibert & Kathy Steinbrecher Clanton.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 26th from 3—7 pm CDT at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso, IN. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 27th at 11:00 am CDT at Valparaiso University’s Chapel of the Resurrection, Rev. Kate Museus officiating with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (Westlake, Oh) building fund.
