The Buckeyes play at Value City Arena and I’ll be there.
Still no word from Valpo about the Non-Con schedule, in looking at the MVCFans thread, a lot of schools have released something regarding their non-con, however we remain silent on the matter.
Great! Somehow I thought it might take Jake a little longer to find us an opening so they fell off my radar. Just how jelled and developed will we be by X-mas?
I'm still watching Blogging the Brackets and finding no clues about a MTE. Not many top 100 programs that aren't already committed to something so my hopes for a solid slot with good competition are dwindling.
I'm also wondering how difficult of a schedule Roger will feel comfortable with?
Oren said we had a MTE similar to the illinois one last year. Waiting on details was last I heard
Looks like no one has posted the new info, so just updating with the non-conference games that have been confirmed over the last few days.
MTE is confirmed with DePaul. Road game at DePaul, home games against Northern Illinois and Eastern Illinois. Dates still TBA.
Season opener will be against Liberty at the new John Wooden Family Fieldhouse in Xenia, Ohio. This is a neutral site game on the sports complex of Athletes in Action. The women’s team is expected to be involved as part of a doubleheader on opening day, November 4.
(MTE and MBB game news from Rocco Miller. WBB involvement from Paul Oren.)
Sounds like some solid competition
The DePaul MTE is a good one for Valpo in its current state. Three games against teams the Beacons should be able to compete with and two of the games are at the ARC! That's a big plus for fans!!! I hope the University can capitalize on this scheduling opportunity and hype up these games by promoting them early on! Set up buses to Chicago, get butts in the seats at the ARC. Promote a "Gold Rush" early on!
i like the DePaul game and MTE. Beyond the points previously made, all non-conference games hosted by Big East teams are on one of the Fox Sports channels. So, good TV coverage.
We will just have to wait and see. Love the enthusiasm to bus fans to Windtrust Arena. Prolly plenty of seats available, since DePaul is complete hot garbage right now. However, just have to wait and see what the eye ball test shows up in the pre season tune ups and first 3-4 games. Win games in Nov, December, through mid January. Only then will momentum for excitement change in the city. We all feel optimistic about the new roster, but its been since Peters Senior year since we have felt truly confident about the upcoming season.
Locks in a 3rd home game vs a 20+ win team. An old Horizon League foe, I like it.
5 spots left...who is up next?
Chicago St?
Trinity Christian, Calumet College? a (Non D-1) opponent.
Maybe the old Ball State rivalry will come back?
This is what I gathered so far.. missing anything?
