We are potentially looking at the MVC being flipped in terms of power rankings with the coaching carrousel and transfer portal
Good for that Norfolk State coach, if it happens. You don't often see solid mid-major conferences hiring from the MEAC
I am reading that some think this is a "home run" for UIC. I also remember some on this board thinking Yaklich was a "home run" hire.
@vu72 Not sure you can hit a home run when you dont even have any baseballs to hit with
"Western Michigan transfer Seth Hubbard tells us he’s heard from: Arkansas State Georgia State Jacksonville State Toledo Kennesaw State Akron Youngstown State Valpo Murray State ECU Northeastern UPenn Winthrop George Washington Longwood UNCW Cleveland State Marshall"
This is a realistic target that fits our needs well. He was on the MAC All-Freshman team last year, averaging 7.5 ppg on 43% (44-103) from three. Shot a high percentage at a high volume at the D1 level. Still has 3 years remaining. Not competing with high majors (yet) for him. I would like this get.
EDIT: Those were his freshman year stats. Appearently he was a sophomore this past season. Averaged 14 ppg, but his 3% went down to 31%, which is definitely concerning.
Not sure why anyone would go from OU to Depaul, unless they felt under the gun at OU. Depaul is where HC careers go to die.
RIP Chris Holtmann's coaching career. It was nice while it lasted.
These are usually reliable sources. If true, I wonder what ISU players will follow their coach, if any.

@valpopal does this look like a lateral move for Scherts? I cannot see what St Louis would offer him that ISU couldnt match.

Saint Louis can offer Schertz a higher salary, more NIL money, a major metropolitan media base, better pool of possible recruits, a conference two spots above the MVC in the NET rankings and with a multi-bid to the NCAA tournament.
@valpopal Fair enough. Dont watch a lot of a10 so I am not familiar with how their conference is looking

Is that all?
SLU is always a dream job for a lot of coaches, and then each tends to struggle to make them successful. It is the same story as Depaul each time
DePaul could be an outstanding opportunity but this would take a complete rearchitecture amongst its stakeholders. The apathy of this once proud program will be a strenuous task to suppress.
