Asking what site you guys who stay up-to-date on portal activity and player movement would recommend... a particular site that you find more informative...thanks
Verbalcommits.com Then go to conferences, then to MVC and the entire list is there. Transfers and new commits.
I sincerely hope, for the sake of these young men, they are putting some thought into these decisions before making them.
Category A: All W & Cooper S = completely understandable. Unless you come from money, I cannot fault players like these if they have the sheer volume of interest on the table being reported. Opportunity + dollars.
Category B: On a scholarship + have potential but didn't get much Playing Time at Valpo. For the sake of these young men, I sincerely hope they have some connections and can land somewhere where they can get a scholarship & some playing time. Ex: Ellis, Scroggins?
Category C: Walk-on + showed an ability to perform at a mid-major level as a 6th man or role player (Ex: Tyler). I suppose there's less risk here in that he wasn't on scholarship + wasn't getting a lot of NIL. So, he's betting on himself.
Category D: Walk on + didn't play ... (Ex: Ramzi). Idk ... again, I suppose the risk factor is low if you didn't have a scholarship.
Then, there's a 5th category that Valpo can be on the receiving end on ....
Category E: Power 4 conference player with a 2+ star ranking who isn't getting the PT he desires. This has existed before NIL and is bound to exist in the NIL era, too. The difference, I presume, is that the quality of player may not be there like it once was ... otherwise, a guy would go to a place where he can get a decent NIL package.
Category F those who are tired of the cold and want warmer weather...
Category G those who hope their brothers bring them along...
Hopefully Cooper goes more towards Northwestern or Wake Forest, and not Michigan or Kansas. He wouldn't get much playing time at these better programs in his Junior year, and would likely be a second unit guy as MI/KS. To succeed at these high level programs, he needs to work on his dribbling in traffic, offensive quickness, and 3 pt shot release point.
I think any playing time might be a stretch at programs like MI/KS. He doesn't have the profile of any player I can think of recently who got any much time of the floor. His defensive effort/awareness would either have to get a lot better or the coach's philosophy would need to change. Bill Self isn't changing.
Eric Henderson new coach at Drake. Thankfully Oscar Cluff is already spoken for.
Thank you "J V" for the portal info/site
For some reason I have no idea or forgot how to post tweets from twitter so here's the text if it is not already here. This is amongst other offers:
Ylan Esso-Essis (@ylan_esso) has received an offer from Division 1 Valparaiso University (Missouri Valley Conference)

verbalcommits.com shows all the offers. That has been posted for some time.

The tweet was from March 20 and I don't think it was posted here.
Another good reason that we should stay in the MVC is tied to coach retention. Though our conference gets poached by the P4 and some high mid-majors, the Horizon League and Summit League coaches view the MVC as a step up for them. Henderson from South Dakota State to Drake and Scott Nagy from South Dakota State to Wright State to Southern Illinois, demonstrates the value of a top 10 conference versus 20-25.
Looks like Stirtz did follow McCollum to Iowa, versus testing his true market value elsewhere. I like to use this site. Also interesting to see that Conor Enright is reuniting with DeVries at IU, after 1 season at DePaul.
2025 College Basketball Transfer Portal
You can now add Kaspar Sepp to transfer portal. This was a surprise to me.
Kaspar Sepp to the portal. This one is truly shocking as he is an engineering student. Not sure where he thinks he is going.
So we are down to to four (?) scholarship players. If Jayden Watson was on scholarship. We do have two walk-ons left!!! So if nobody else leaves we have SEVEN scholarships to give. This makes the whole idea of "family" and everybody "loves" each other so freaking hollow. It is truly sad.
Kaspar might have been told that Powell's playing style is needing to adapt, and he can no longer have someone on the court that doesn't produce on offense. I very much like Kaspar's playing style and skill set, but he would do better in a lower level conference.
The NCAA changed the amount of scholarships from 13 to 15 for this coming year.
