Liberty isn't a bad team. They shouldn't be 20 better than Valpo in a relatively non competitive game if we're to assume Valpo's improved.
On this I agree. The score shouldn't have been that bad, but I did see signs of improvement. Just need to sustain those signs and get more guys involved in scoring besides Wright and Schmidt
I love the passion. Valpo will be better than last year so let's not get to down after a loss to a very talented team. I'll be shocked if Liberty doesn't finish in the top 4 in CUSA. I'll also be shocked if CUSA finishes 5 spots behind the MVC this year.
Is Justus McNair and or All Wright an upgrade from Jahari Williams. That guy was shooting really well from 3 down the stretch last year.
Yes interior defense will be an issue again. Play Scroggins a lot more. Right now we don't have any shooters and the loss of our best shooter/scorer Stafford is a major blow. Shaw, McNair, Wright still scratching the surface/developing on the court. Let's see how the non con schedule goes with these guys. Everyone is beatable except the Bucks. Depaul was in tussle with Southern Indiana. Sycamores are back to reality this year. Team should be better record wise this year, with a. softer conference and favorable schedule. Liberty is an NIT team, a more talented team. Outside of Cooper, who is our second best player?
I wasn't able to watch, but it's disappointing to see some of the shooting numbers on both sides. Valpo simply has to become more skilled on offense. Whether that can be improved this season or not, time will tell, but this continues to be a problem year over year.
