Based on POs latest tweet, I am expecting nothing less than an immediate impact player that can elevate the team. Sounds like it might take a while to find out though.
Edit: after some very basic investigative work I’m going to predict this is for Josh Dilling. For every offer he received he used the same post on Twitter just switching out the names of the schools. Except for when he announced his visit to Valpo he started it with “after a great visit”. He didn’t put that for any other school. 24 hours later we get a boom.
Given that Josh Dilling would be coming from D-2, I don’t know how big a boom he would be considered, but he certainly has impressive stats. 18.7 PPG, 56.2 2FGP, 46.1 3FGP, 80.3 FTP, 36 minutes. An experienced guard that shoots nearly 50% from 3 in a free wheeling offense is just what the doctor ordered.

Hello Newman
Hello Newman
honeslty, I can see it being this and I PRAY it is not true. A mid major player that averaged 10 pts on 32% three point shooter does not warrant this response just cause he’s from Valpo. He is a 6th man caliber player on an MVC contender.

He put up decent stats as benchwarmer at Purude. Good defensive player. I dont think its him tho. He is kinda a jerk for lack of better term.

Just a thought for speculation: what if the Rev can get BN to return to his freshman form at Purdue (38% on 3-pointers and 94% on Free Throws); that's a different story. Plus, he would bring many "Valpo fans" to VU games and create a community connection.
I can see why the coaching staff might look at this as a "Boom" if it was Newman.
Clearly something huge has happened if 3 coaches are in and Powell has been teasing this for days now. I could see Newman because he has power conference expierience. Usually you dont see guys who have played for heavy hitters like Purdue come down to the High-Mid-Major Level. I liked him when I was a member of Viking Nation, but Powell needs to controll his tude. As soon as he got the Purdue offer, his personallity took a 180. I hope he has changed for the better. Powell and his staff have the skills to turn him back into the Purdue Newman.
That is...if this is a BOOM for Newman.
It's not Newman and it's not Dilling.
@thevictorybell Well Paul said it. And to reiterate your words on the bird app time to wait and see then. I assume this is going to be a massive boost
It's not Newman and it's not Dilling.
Keyondre Young is coming back? Someone said it is something that we would not expect, and I see him in the portal and would not expect him to come back lol
Clearly something huge
I hope the rumor I have heard is correct, because this would be an accurate description.
Pat Baldwin with a “Rerun” tweet? I’ve got to go with Jacob Ognacevic. Lipscomb’s best player, 1st all-conference in ‘22-23. Averaged 18 PPG. Shot 68% from the field, 20th best shooting % in D-1. Sat out last season with a knee injury. I think he has 2 year’s remaining. He would be an instant star in the MVC. One of the biggest losses in Valpo history. He is a DOG. The perfect matching bookend for Cooper.

As great a player as he is, I have a hard time seeing us bringing in a star that would directly compete with Cooper.
Interesting speculation! DeAveiro, Young and Ognacevic were all promising freshmen teammates and classmates once upon a time. Seems like that was centuries ago.
