This is obviously a reach, but could the mystery transfer be Dominick Harris from Loyola Marymount? Former top 100 recruit that played for Roger Powell at Gonzaga for a year but transferred to LMU for a bigger role. At LMU he turned into the one of the best 3pt shooters in the country, shooting 45% from deep on 15ppg. He entered the transfer portal last month and has not committed yet. There are rumors about UCLA wanting him, but seems like their fans see him coming off the bench for them. Not sure why he'd transfer from LMU to Valpo, but there is the Roger Powell connection and he fills the shooting hole. Only problem would be he is a pg/sq and I would think we are more after a 3 and a 5 unless Darius/McNair or Stafford come off the bench.

@speedypitcher37 Looks to me like he was a benchwarmer for most of the season. only played 7.8 min a game on avg in 23-24. Overall a nice get as far as making Valpo fans happy. He is a Drew so I don't think he is going to be terrible. Big question is does he wear Dana's or Bryce's number
This......is not a boom, or at least not worth the crazy hype the coaches and PO were tweeting out Wednesday night. Looks like a nice addition, love that he has 3 years of eligibility left. Again, I'm whelmed.
@rezynezy That is true, and Grand Canyon is obviously a very good team, but statistically a little less than the big splash we were all hoping for. That being said, TVB article says he had interest from 2 dozen schools - don’t know if they were all D1, but at least a lot of places see potential in him. And a cool story nonetheless.
@nativecheesehead In terms of playtimer and production. I would agree. He was a benchwarmer on a majority older GCU roster. Fraternization was not something Bryce wanted to do with that roster. However, the implications of getting the Drews back in Valpo make this larger than your average boom

Makes sense to me because most combinations of clues seems to lead me to 6' 2" or shorter guards. As a fanbase we would like a combo big, ball handling, dead eye 3 point shooting miracle worker and these players do not grow on trees. Please tell me that this was not the news that “Valpo fans are gonna like”. The story does nothing for me. There is no added value in having an end of the bench guy with the name of the in-laws to a former coach. Hope he turns out great. But the rose colored glasses view on this is just weird. Change his name then tell me how excited we would be about this signing. 👍
We also got Devin Ellis as well Powell has displayed his recruiting power with all of the portal gets and HS guys in Justus McNair. He is hitting the portal hard as promised. It is still early in the portal cycle keep that in mind. Also, you dont care about the story? The Drew family has done so much for the program, having a Drew back isnt something you would enjoy? As for changing his name, he shows a lot of promise as an athlete if he wasd 53% from 3 in 7 games.
No comment yet on Shaw as a player or prospect. BUT, I wouldn't be at all surprised if GCU and Valpo aren't working on a home and home series as we speak.
