New Commit: Shaikyi Hannah 5'11 178 Delsea HS New Jersey (Lafayette College - FCS) - RSSO
Notes: Played in 15 games with 8 starts at Cornerback in 2021. Appears to have lost position or been injured, moved to WR last season, will move back to DB at VU
Looks like another solid hire with loads of experience. Is this the last spot? Let's go! Excited for this season! I'm expecting great things!
Staff has moved on from offensive coordinator Matthew Symmes. With training camp starting 07/31 I have to believe Fox knows his next hire.
lots of questionable calls from Symmes last season. Appel fell off a cliff with him. Here’s to hoping next hire is able to get more out of that position
Isn't it a bit late to be replacing an OC? I thought assistant contracts ran through or up to spring ball?
Admittedly do not know many details

#15 QB Michael Martin has left the program and will go the JUCO route

His twitter implies he is now with Northwestern
Hamdan now lists QB coach which makes sense.
Players reporting today and no OC to greet them?
Correct. Have heard who may be running the offense but isn’t confirmed. Several key transfers came in this week. Roster has been posted
The roster is public with 123 names currently on board, hailing from 31 states and DC. Fascinating to me how Valpo continues to draw players from all over the country. Is it the weather?
@vu72 I feel like the new atmosphere of college sports has effectively killed the walk on. Kids are now going to lower tier schools in order to transfer up with skill it seems. Could be why there is a variety of athletes turning up
Anyone see or hear of a person who might have been standing in front of the offense with a laminated sheet of plays or maybe an index card?
Watched the intra squad scrimmage. It appears Fox is the acting OC w Hibran very involved.
Manseray was the lone bright spot with the 1st team offense going for maybe 60 yards on the day. Our defense should once again be a top unit in the PFL.
Most discouraging was a few sets of injury news from the day that I am sure the staff does not want out on the web but may see in the Victory Bell.
Mansaray and Mann and a dumbed down play book should make us functional on offense. It will be hard not to outperform last years 240 yards per game.
Not having a defined OC just sounds disfunctional to me. Be interesting to find out what happened with the last guy. Either you're in or you're out at this late stage which I would think would be recognized by the HC.
With co-DC's maybe it's ultimately not that big of a deal.
Outside of the occasional Davis burst of Butler kick return. Last year on offense was an absolute disaster. Second lowest output on offense since 2007 in Valpo history. That’s saying something if you think about the records.
My guess is Brewster and Hamdan having played in the NFL were very blatantly more qualified than Symmes and with the offense being a disaster at the spring game. Probably was just time to cut bait.
