Quote from: valpofb16 on August 05, 2017, 12:46:38 PMValpo football video had Tristan DE LARosa and Jimmy See Wald both practicing. Great signs

Odd that the tweet with the video has been removed.

Not odd. Just trying to not give away all the secrets to the opposition.

I'm sure Montana has already posted the video, broken it down and is game planning as we speak.

Come on MAN!

Maybe Montana is falling for preparing for De La Rosa and Lake Forest (FYI--See Wald is German for Lake Forest)

I think the video ended with a slide saying that the Valpo v. Montana game was on September 9 which is obviously a glaring error considering that the game is on September 2.

It's obviously a plan to throw off the timing of game preparation while scouting our video!

After going through the Montana message board (egriz.com), they're not really paying much attention to Valpo--most of their fans are looking for forward to their 9/9 game at Washington.  So maybe...just maybe...we catch them off guard...

Montana is just concerned about recovering from the physical beating they'll get from Valpo. Not sure why they'd be concerned all that much with Washington who couldn't even beat USC or Alabama last year.

Video is back up btw.

2624 - Washington was pretty darn good last year and will be this year. And there is nothing shameful about losing to the Rose Bowl champion Trojans.

Ummmm....I'm really not even sure how to respond to this one considering I couldn't have been more obvious.

I guess we all have diverse snark styles.  Isn't that always the problem with diversity - not everyone either understands or appreciates it.

Btw -- {snark}

Sorry - I get sensitive when holier than thou Big 10 fans rip on the Conference of Champions.

My turn to show my sensitive side: Don't lump me in with the Big 10 fans in the neighborhood.

no problem - living in Iowa, dealing with some of the Hawkeye fans can be difficult, as they celebrate their glory as the fake ID of college football.

So, do you all recall that Cecchini recruited Christian Coleman? He was set to play football at VU, but I believe he had an outstanding track season as a high school senior and ended up going to Georgia on scholarship.

If the name doesn't sound familiar, it should. He beat Usain Bolt twice at the World Championships and got the silver in the 100.

Just saw an article that he ran NCAA record 9.82 this year and is recognized as America's rising track star. He turned pro for the World Championships.

He may have been able to score a few touchdowns at Brown Field. :)

he ran a 4.12 sec 40-yard dash. Cincinnati Bengal and former Washington Husky WR John Ross ran a top NFL combine speed of 4.22 sec.

I wonder why Coleman would have considered Valpo for football - perhaps the Lutheran affiliation?

Maybe the answer is that he was very fast but wasn't very tall and also that he couldn't catch the ball very well.  Randy Moss and Bob Hayes aside, speed does not always equal being a great wideout.

Interesting roster notes.

JR tight end Mason Sutter is up to 6-7 240, was recruited at 6-5 190
James Reed and De La Rosa are both up to 300 lbs at DT

VULB#62

#43
THAT is significant. Especially Sutter. He is now in Gronk territory (relatively speaking). Hope he hasn't lost any speed and that he plays like Gronk.  As far as the big boys are concerned, hoping the added weight is all muscle and no quickness was lost.

VU2624

Is Tristan actually participating?
Last I heard he was not in contact drills.

valpofb16

DB Aaron King
WR Antonio Dargaj
OL Nick Johnson
LBJacob Gapinski
have left team

valpofb16

#7 Kye Hall SR. Linebacker has also been removed from the roster

Is this the never got on the bus, plane or in the car list or did they actually show up and then return home?

vu72

What the??  Kyle Hall would be a huge loss.   :(
