Maybe only a couple of polls left in the 2010-2011 season.  But, let's go ahead and keep the thread going.

The old table format still seems to work here. So, I'll go ahead and add the same placeholder table, in case I, or someone else, wants to come back and put together some nice summary of the season.  For now the results in the table are all 2009-2010.

oh look...the first two teams on the receiving votes line look familiar.  :)

Looks like they might update the mid-major poll just once more this season, in two weeks.

But, later today we'll likely get to see Butler make their way back into the national top 25.

By the way, the Missouri Valley has now passed the Horizon in RPI.  They've had a _much_ better post-season run.  Many of their teams in the secondary, tertiary, etc. post-season tournaments are actually winning games.

agibson

Huh.  Looks like the AP poll didn't update this week.  The coaches' poll didn't update last week, either.  Maybe all the polls give it one more go, after the championship?

The coaches' poll updated something like April 6.

Butler moved up from receiving _zero_ votes, to taking second overall.  (The last Horizon League votes in that poll were for CSU, I think, a couple of polls prior.)  VCU went from zero votes to sixth overall.

In the RPI (from WarrenNolan) Valpo ended up 81st.  Butler 19th, and not quite enough to put the Horizon back in front of the Valley.  So, the Horizon League finished 12th.  (CUSA 8th, CAA 9th, A10 10th, Valley 11th, Horizon 12th, WAC 13th, WCC 14th).

And here's the final mid-major poll, from April 5.  Valpo effectively in 32nd.  4th among Horizon League vote-getters.

 1.    Butler (31)    28-10    775    6    Horizon League
 2.    VCU    28-12    744    14    Colonial Athletic
 3.    George Mason    27-7    704    3    Colonial Athletic
 4.    Old Dominion    27-7    664    1    Colonial Athletic
 5.    Wichita State    29-8    649    9    Missouri Valley
 6.    Belmont    30-5    636    2    Atlantic Sun
 7.    Gonzaga    25-10    585    4    West Coast
 8.    Oakland    25-10    552    5    Summit Leagye
 9.    Missouri State    26-9    495    8    Missouri Valley
10.    Princeton    25-7    485    10    Ivy League
11.    St. Mary's    25-9    480    7    West Coast

And how did Valpo opponents fare in the end-of-season polls?

Butler 1st in the mid-major poll (to think they were behind Oakland in the previous poll!), second nationally.
Kansas fourth nationally (I notice the Morris twins hired an agent).
Purdue 17th nationally.
Oakland 8th in the mid-major poll.
Missouri State 9th in the mid-major poll.
Cleveland State 12th in the mid-major poll.
Milwaukee 20th in the mid-major poll.
Iona effectively 26th in the mid-major (after losing in the CIT final to Santa Clara).
Valpo itself, effectively 32nd in the mid-major.
